As per Inco terms of shipping, CPT means Carriage Paid to (named destination mentioned). CIF means, Cost, Insurance and Freight (up to the destination mentioned).

 

The term CPT was introduced in Inco Terms 2010. The CIF terms of shipping has been being used for the past decades.

Gaurav Gupta: We get Export Orders on C & F Basis and Payment is TT upon receipt of Material. Can we get Marine Insurance on our cost to safe guard against our risk of Goods Lost in Transit and Party may not pay as it did not receive the goods?
