Difference between DAP in payment terms and DAP in delivery terms.
DAP Payment terms in export import of international trade? I know DAP terms in Inco terms. But is there a term DAP in payment terms used in international trade?
Please do not confuse with DAP terms used in terms of delivery of shipments and the term DAP used in Payment terms used in International trade.
Is there a terms of payment as DAP? Some of the traders worldwide use DAP as one of the terms of payment. Strictly speaking, the terms DP in payment terms is widely used as DAP. The payment term DP means Documents against Payments.
What is DAP in terms of delivery. DAP means Delivered At Place. Normally the place also is mentioned along with the terms DAP. For example, DAP New York means, Delivered At Place New York. The meaning of such term is similar to DDU which means Delivered Duty Unpaid.
I suggest my readers in international trade to use only DP instead of DAP under terms of payment, so as to enable us not to confuse with DAP terms of delivery.

As per Inco terms, the terms DDU has been removed from list with effect from the year 2010 and introduced DAP which covers almost all functions of DDU. Also read Is DP terms of payment safe in export business?
