The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (Indonesian: Direktorat Jenderal Bea dan Cukai; also known as Bea Cukai) is the Indonesian government agency under Ministry of Finance that serves the community in the field of customs and excise.
In Indonesia, an individual identity number known as the Customs Identification Number (NIK) is given by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise to importers and exporters and its registration is required to perform customs activities. This customs number enables the exporters and importers the likelihood to access or connect with the customs system.
Export Declaration (PEB)
One of the most important steps for the exporter is to submit a Pemberitahuan Ekspor Barang (PEB) to the Customs and Excise Office (Export Goods Notification) (PEB). The PEB along with several accompanying documents, including an invoice, packing list, and documents from the relevant technical bodies, are required in order to obtain the final export approval.
