DPU and DDP, what is the difference
Delivered at Place Unloaded Vs. Delivered Duty Paid
DDP explains as Delivered Duty Paid at a named location where goods are delivered by seller to buyer as per contract of carriage. DPU elaborates as delivered goods to the named place by unloading by seller.
One of the major differences between DDP and DPU is that the unloading responsibility. Under DDP, the seller is not responsible to unload the goods under Incoterms 2020 rules whereas under DDU, the costs and risks in unloading goods under the responsibility of Seller.
Another major difference between DPU and DDP is that under DDP, import customs clearance and import taxes and duties if any are liable to pay by the Seller. But under DPU rules, the import customs clearance and taxes are under the liability of the buyer.
