Seeks to further amend notification No 27/2011- Customs dated 1st March 2011 to reduce the export duty on EI tanned leather and Hides, skins and leathers, tanned and untanned, all sorts.

Notification No. 27/2019-Customs

New Delhi, the 6th July, 2019

 

G.S.R. (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act,1962 (52 of 1962) the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 27/2011- Customs, dated the 1st March, 2011, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, vide number G.S.R. 153 (E), dated the 1st March, 2011, namely:-

 

In the said notification, in the Table, -

 

(i)     against S. No. 26, for the entry in column (4), the entry “Nil” shall be substituted;

 

(ii)      after S. No. 38 and the entries relating thereto, the following S. No. and the entries shall be inserted, namely: -

Note: The principal notification No. 27/2011- Customs, dated the 1st March, 2011was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 153(E), dated the 1st March, 2011and last amended vide notification No. 51/2018-Customs, dated the 9th July, 2018, published vide number G.S.R. 621 (E), dated the 9th July, 2018.

Naveed Ahmed Appa Pillai: How nice it would be if Crust leathers were also exempted of Export Duty. After all Crust Leathers are value added than EI Leathers. Hope the ministry takes steps and amend the notification as soon as possible.
