Define E-sanchit and why it is important?

In the official website of Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), it had announced the Pilot implementation for paperless processing, uploading of supporting documents, e-SANCHIT, from 20th Oct 2017.

It enabling the ICEGATE registered persons to file documents online. The ‘India Customs Single Window’ allows importers & exporters, to lodge their clearance documents online without approaching other regulatory agencies for requisite permissions if any. The idea is to reduce physical interface between customs/regulatory agencies and the trade and to increase the speed of clearance.
