What is GSTR 5 and GSTR 4 ? How does GSTR 4 differ from GSTR 5?

Difference between GSTR 4 and GSTR 5

GSTR 4 is a return under GST that needs to be filed once every 3 months by registered tax payers who have signed up for the composition scheme (those who opt for this scheme are known as compounding vendors). But the GSTR 5 is a Monthly Return for a non-resident taxpayer.

 

But GSTR 4 has to be filed on 18th of the month succeeding the quarter. . But GSTR 5 is filed on 20th of the month succeeding the tax period and within 7 days after expiry of   registration.

GSTR 4 has to be Taxable Person opting for Composition Levy. . But GSTR 5 is filed by Nonresident Tax Payer.
