No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Commodity board

No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Commodity board in import exportDifferent countries have their own foreign trade policy (FTP) on importation and exportation of various commodities to safeguard life, environment and socio economic status. There are different commodity boards in each country to safe guard manufacturers of such commodity.

For example, if you would like to import Rubber to India, you need to obtain permission from Rubber Board, as import of rubber effects the rubber industry in India, as India is one of the major producers of rubber in domestic country. Natural rubber is not permitted in some of the countries like India to safeguard the rubber farmers of domestic production. Coffee import is prohibited or restricted to those countries who manufacture such products to safeguard the domestic manufacturers. If you would like to import coffee to such country, a permission from Coffee Board is required to import coffee to the said country.  So, prohibition and restriction of goods are decided by government time to time through foreign trade policy.

In short, a No Objection Certificate from Commodity Board might be required for certain items on import/export to protect local manufacturers of such commodity.
