Difference between normal dry container and ventilated container

Ventilated cargo Container Vs Standard dry container

difference between ventilated container and normal containerIn this post, the difference between normal container and ventilated container is explained.

The major difference between general dry container and ventilated container is that the ventilated container containers have ventilation arrangements where general dry container does not have.

The Ventilated containers are generally used to transport cargo with good moisture contents which requires ventilation while transit. The cargo like Coffee beans, Cocoa beans etc. is moved in a ventilated container. The normal dry container carries general dry cargo.

In a ventilated container, the ventilation is provided by openings in bottom and top side of rails of container. Such openings are made by protecting from rain or spray from outside to let in. The upper side, lower side and corner posts of ventilated containers have lashing rings to secure the cargo. Lashing rings, to which the cargo may be secured, are installed in the upper and lower side rails and the corner posts.
