The Cashew Export Promotion Council of India (CEPC) was established by the Government of India on 17th August 1955, with the active co-operation of the cashew industry, with the object of promoting exports of cashew kernels and cashew nut shell liquid from India.
The Council provides the necessary institutional frame-work for performing the different functions that serve to intensify and promote India’s exports of cashew kernels, cashewnut shell liquid, cardanol and allied products. It is a non-profit making company serving the trade to boost export earnings. The various services offered by the Council to its member exporters include dissemination of trade information and trade enquiries, statistics, etc., free participation in Council’s stalls in international fairs, trade delegations to various importing countries, etc. The Council operates the Five Year Plan Schemes of the Government of India providing financial assistance to member exporters, for Process Upgradation & Modernization of factories, acquiring new packing facilities and facilities for value addition and implementing international quality standard certifications like ISO / HACCP. Member exporters of this Council can avail other benefits offered by the Government of India like DEPB, VKGUY, etc. using the Registration-cum-Membership Certificate issued by the Council.
The Council provides the necessary liaison for bringing together foreign importers with member exporters of cashew kernels. The enquiries received from the foreign importers are circulated amongst Council members.
The Council also extends its good offices in settling complaints amicably in the matter of exports/imports either on account of quality and /or variation in fulfillment of contractual obligations. Read more
